Adhesion; laboratory tests.
All our shoes are laboratory-tested in a machine that gives a level of grip, rated between 0 and 1 (0= not at all grippy, 1 = very grippy).
This simulates the movement we can have on a smooth, wet boat deck with salt water. It measures the shoe's ability to hold on to this surface up to its stalling point.
The Sailing 100 model is rated 0.78/1, which represents a good level of grip on the sailing market.
Adhesion; use tests
The Sailing 100 model has been tested and validated by the Tribord sailing team throughout its design, in calm to variable sailing conditions (chop, small swell, wind force 5 on average), in warm, sunny weather (on average with an outside temperature of 25°). These in-use grip tests were carried out mainly on Figaros and Open 570s, at various positions (helmsman, piano, trimmer, n°2).
