My wheel has veiled
When you first ride your new bike, many components will naturally move and settle into place. This is true of your wheel spokes, which you'll hear "creaking" as a result of residual torsion during assembly. The wheel should not be warped. If it is, take advantage of your free service within the first 6 months in one of our DECATHLON workshops to have this slight warp readjusted.
My gears don't shift properly
There are several reasons for poor gear shifting:
NB: If you regularly use your bike in wet or muddy conditions, or if you regularly hose down your bike, you'll need to replace sheaths and cables more frequently. High-pressure washing is strongly discouraged, as it pushes dirt back into the sheaths.

Check the position of the housing ends. Incorrectly positioned end sleeves can interfere with derailleur cable pulling and rear sprocket shifting. If an end cap is incorrectly positioned, replace it by hand.

The cable and housing may be seized. If you can't shift down to the smallest gears (sprockets), and the derailleur doesn't move even after you've operated the shifter, then the cable and housing are probably seized up. Both cable and housing should be replaced.

Take your bike to the Decathlon workshop for a new derailleur adjustment.
- Also check that the derailleur hanger is not bent. If this is the case, see "I'VE BROKEN MY DERAILLEUR HANDLE".

My derailleur hanger broke
A bent dropout causes the derailleur to become misaligned, so it can no longer perform its function properly. Stand at the rear of your bike and check the alignment of the derailleur. If the derailleur hanger is bent or broken, go to a DECATHLON workshop to replace it.
My bike has a puncture
Check the tire several times to make sure it doesn't go flat again. Once you're sure the tire is free of foreign bodies (thorns, nails, etc.), repair or replace the tube. You can consult our tutorial on our support site, or book an appointment in one of our DECATHLON workshops.
My frame broke
Your bike's frame, stem and handlebars come with a lifetime warranty, which applies only when used properly. Your bike is designed for more or less sporty riding. If you use your bike for an inappropriate purpose and the frame cracks, for example, the warranty will not apply. You can find the rest of the warranty details by clicking here.

I maintain my bike myself
Maintaining your bike is essential to prolonging the life of its components, and thus enhancing the enjoyment of your sport. Neglected maintenance can lead to a number of problems: seized cabling, rust, leaks, premature wear and tear, etc. Extending the life of your bike and its components means less impact on the environment.
How to degrease my bicycle chain
To properly degrease your chain, it's important to spray a degreasing product onto the bike's chain and drivetrain. Then wipe the dirt off the chain and cassette with a clean cloth. Depending on the general condition of the chain, don't hesitate to insist on cleaning the dirtiest areas!
Finally, rinse the chain thoroughly to remove all residues. Finally, leave for a few minutes before wiping your chain with a dry cloth to completely remove any remaining residue and deposits.

How to lubricate my transmission
Once you've cleaned your chain and, ideally, your entire transmission, you need to lubricate everything. This step serves two purposes:
Lubrication will therefore improve the life of your bike and prevent you from having to change your bike chain prematurely.
