The story of its development....
Entirely designed and validated by us.
This model is based on the A200 chassis. It retains the push-pin adjustment and oversized tubes.
Why do we offer this top grip? We've found that the classic grip doesn't work for everyone, especially over long periods of time. That's why we created this slightly different stick, which doesn't break the wrist and distributes effort more evenly down the arm, since it's aligned with the axis of the stick.
How do you set your poles to the right length?
The arm along the body should be almost straight or slightly bent. The length is therefore shorter than on a conventional stick.
To do this:
- pull the bottom strand all the way through until the bottom push-pin (metal button) locks into place
- slide the middle tube until the top push-pin protrudes at the desired hole
- use the lines printed on the tubes to align the push-pins with the holes
Never go beyond the STOP line to avoid the risk of breakage.
Directions for use
This trekking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between your arms and legs.
For greater safety, before setting off and at regular intervals, check that your pole locks into place by simulating heavy pressure.
Do not put on your backpack in a thunderstorm.
Some users are sensitive to the whistling noise that can temporarily occur when the wind rushes through the adjustment holes.
Maintenance tips
Maintaining your poles in good condition will keep them running at their best and extend their life.
After use, if any water has penetrated the pole, dismantle the strands and allow them to dry. Clean off any dust or mud with water or a soft brush.
Once dry, you can reassemble the strands. We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease.
Why is the stick sold individually?
At Decathlon, we've decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. Firstly, for reasons of use. Some people only want to use one pole. Secondly, if one of your poles breaks, you only have to buy one pole rather than a whole pair.
Accessories for this model sold separately
The advantage of buying Forclaz hiking poles is that you can benefit from a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. So you can enjoy them for as long as possible.
