CHOOSING YOUR HIKING BACKPACK

The backpack is a real companion on your hikes or treks. To find the hiking backpack that's right for you and comfortable, you need to choose the right one. To begin with, it's the bag's volume that should narrow down your search. This volume should correspond to the activity you'll be practicing, the duration of your hike, or the type of equipment you'll be carrying.

Hiking backpacks fall into three categories:

1- Hiking backpacks with a volume of 5 to 20 liters,

2- From 20 to 35 liters

3- Over 40 liters.

Hiking backpacks must of course take into account your own measurements: length and shape of your back. The shape of the back varies enormously according to the sex of the wearer: women's backpacks, for example, will be less wide than men's backpacks.

When choosing your hiking backpack, make sure you take only the equipment you need to go hiking, and take care to adjust your backpack properly.

To organize the contents of your backpack, try to distribute the weight of your equipment: the bulkiest items should be at the bottom of the bag, while the heaviest items should be along the back.
