TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The story of its development....

Entirely designed and validated by us.
Why did we choose the Push-pin? Some users don't want to make life difficult for themselves when it comes to adjusting their poles. This system has proved to be simple, reliable, light and inexpensive.
Why oversized tubes? Because this model is aimed at walkers who need to be reassured about reliability.
Why a foam grip? Because our field tests have shown that comfort is superior to that of a plastic handle.

How do you set your poles to the right length?

The forearm, holding the stick, should be perpendicular to the arm along the body. To do this:
- pull the bottom strand all the way out until the bottom push-pin (metal knob) locks into place;
- slide the middle tube until the top push-pin protrudes at the desired hole;
- use the lines printed on the tubes to align the push-pins with the holes;
Never go beyond the STOP line to avoid breaking the stick.

Directions for use

This trekking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between your arms and legs.
For greater safety, before setting off and at regular intervals, check that your pole locks into place by simulating heavy pressure.
Don't put it on your backpack in a thunderstorm.
Some users are sensitive to the whistling noise that can temporarily occur when the wind rushes through the adjustment holes.

Maintenance tips

Proper care of your stick will ensure optimum performance and a long service life.
After use, if water has penetrated the stick, dismantle the strands and allow to dry. Clean off any dust or mud with water or a soft brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the rods.
We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.

Why is the stick sold individually?

At Decathlon, we've decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. Firstly, for reasons of use. Some people only want to use one pole. Secondly, if one of your poles breaks, you only have to buy one pole rather than a whole pair.

Accessories for this model sold separately

The advantage of buying Forclaz hiking poles is that you can benefit from a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. So you can enjoy them for as long as possible.

COMPOSITIONS / ADVICE

Composition

STOCK TIPS

Store the baton in a dry place without tightening the adjustment systems, so as not to stress them and preserve their clamping power.

TESTS

In order to establish our thresholds, we have measured the forces received by the poles in the most demanding situations of use. During development, each model undergoes laboratory tests that reproduce these stresses (compression, three-point bending, etc.), right up to the breaking point. We also test individual components (clamping force, pull-out, etc.). Finally, these tests are regularly repeated in production to ensure a constant level of quality.

Approved by

In addition to laboratory tests, Théo, our test engineer, ensures that each model also passes the test of protocolized field tests. These validate points such as comfort, ease of adjustment, vibrations, etc.
Finally, resistance is also validated by a resistance test mission that can reach over 500 km.
