The story of its development....
Entirely designed and validated by us, at the foot of Mont Blanc.
The starting point of our design was the external clamp for fast, precise adjustment. Combined with a push-pin that deploys and folds automatically.
Then we designed a handle that allows multiple gripping: along the tube for ascents and inclines, by the strap for an efficient push, by the pommel for descents.
And we use our best 7075-T6 aluminum for a contained weight.
How do you set your poles to the right length?
The forearm holding the pole must be perpendicular to the arm along the body. To do this:
- pull the bottom strand all the way out until the push-pin (metal button) locks
- open the lever on the external blocker
- slide the tube to the desired length
- close the lever
Never go beyond the STOP line to avoid the risk of the pole breaking.
Directions for use
This trekking pole is designed to help you balance, propel yourself and distribute effort between your arms and legs.
For greater safety, before setting off and at regular intervals, check your pole's locking mechanism by simulating heavy pressure. If you notice that your pole tends to sag, the locking knob needs adjusting. Open the lever and turn the knob a quarter to half a turn.
Do not put on your backpack in a thunderstorm.
Maintenance tips
Proper care of your stick will ensure optimum performance and a long service life.
After use, if water has penetrated the stick, dismantle the strands and allow to dry. Clean off any dust or mud with water or a soft brush. Once dry, you can reassemble the rods.
We recommend that you do not attempt to oil or grease the mechanisms.
Why is the stick sold individually?
At Decathlon, we've decided to sell our hiking/trekking poles individually. Firstly, for reasons of use. Some people only want to use one pole. Secondly, if one of your poles breaks, you only have to buy one pole rather than a whole pair.
Accessories for this model sold separately
The advantage of buying Forclaz hiking poles is that you can benefit from a wide choice of compatible accessories and spare parts. So you can enjoy them for as long as possible.
