TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Collaboration with Arthur Frattini, Vth Dan black belt

This dogi is the fruit of a collaboration with Arthur Frattini, Aikido referee teacher at the CMS Pantin club and:
- Ceinture noire V ème Dan
- Président du CODEP 93 FFAAA
- Vice président de la Ligue IDF FFAAA
- Jury régional UFA

Find Arthur on his website:

The aim of this collaboration was to co-develop a dogi specific to the practice of Aikido, paying careful attention to product design, user needs and Aikido codes.

The Keikogi 500

We've designed a keikogi that's adapted to your practice so you can progress without constraint: the long sleeves, absence of back seams, amplitude at shoulder level and curved waist allow you to perform all your movements freely.
And with its rice grain and diamond motifs, it follows the aesthetic codes of Aikido.
And the pants? They are more resistant at the knees for ground combat, and feature a traditional drawstring waistband.

Weight and composition

The thickness of a fabric, and therefore its weight, is expressed in grams per square meter. This is called grammage.
And to practice Aikido, it's best to use a dogi with a resistant fabric, which stays in place throughout the techniques and even when it goes through the washing machine!
That's why we've chosen a fabric composed of 65% cotton and 35% polyester: it's more resistant to pulling and washing.
And with its 550 g/m², you benefit from a grammage adapted to confirmed practice.

How to choose your kimono size?

Kimono sizes range from 160 to 190 cm, so we advise you to choose a kimono at least 5 cm larger than your height.
For example, if you're 1m75 tall, choose a 180 cm kimono.

Here's a guide to help you choose:
- 160 cm: XXS-XS / pants 34-36
- 170 cm: S-M / pants 38-40
- 180 cm: L / pants 44
- 190 cm: XL / pants 48

The sizes specified in this guide are based on a man's morphology; for a woman, take a size larger.

How to care for your kimono

We recommend airing the kimono after each use. And to preserve its white color, wash regularly. Our tip? Wash your kimono cold for the first few washes. Afterwards, you can wash it at no more than 30°C.
And for drying, we strongly advise you to let it air-dry and not to use a tumble-dryer :)
