TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Foamed, this chard won't sink

Many of you asked us for a form of foamed mallard. So we listened. This caller is filled with polyurethane foam. So, even if a few steel balls hit it while you've just been shooting at the water, it won't sink. And a form that doesn't sink means you don't have to replace it during or at the end of the season. With this model, your hitch lasts longer.

A duck shape designed to maximize the chances of attracting ducks

This form of mallard has been entirely developed by our teams. It boasts the best color finish of our entire range of Swiss chard, because our aim at Solognac is to encourage encounters between ducks and waterfowl: to do this, we need to shorten the distance between hunter and bird. This mallard plays an essential role, thanks to its silhouette, which is as close as possible to the real thing, and its texture, which imitates duck feathers.

The steps involved in creating this mallard chard

This shape took many months to develop. It all began with the work of a woodcarver, who brought the first prototype to life. This was followed by 3D modeling, and various adjustments to volume and attitude, in order to create a true-to-life blette. Various phases of colorimetry and 3D texturing of the feathers, punctuated by field tests, resulted in a shape with ultra-realistic colors.

Realism of form: an essential factor

When you're hunting from a barrel, hut or gabion, it's vital that the pack is as massive, complete and realistic as possible to attract wild ducks. Thanks to this accessory, the pack formed (we also recommend placing a few of these chard among your decoys) maximizes your chances of landing.

Why do the characteristics of this form of mallard make it an indispensable accessory?

The keel of this shape is weighted to guarantee optimum buoyancy in the face of chop and small waves. And when you consider that these chard boats can stay in place for months on the water, our duck-hunting engineers chose a thermoplastic main component, resistant to the vagaries of the weather and the changing seasons. Last but not least, the properties of the paint resist possible degradation by salt water.

A hard-wearing appeal designed to withstand the seasons

In response to feedback from our users - hutters, gabioners and tonnayres - the plastic's resistance has also been designed to cope with transport conditions (car, boat, bag, etc.) and storage conditions during and after the hunting season. This element, essential for all good waterfowlers, has been worked on by our teams to guarantee the shape's optimum lifespan. It also features a matt paint finish to prevent it from glistening on a full-moon night.
