BRAKING PRINCIPLE
This belay system makes it easy to brake a fall, as the belay swivels upwards and pinches the rope. The rope can be easily released by tilting the brake downwards with the thumb.
This belay device is halfway between 1 classic belay device and 1 assisted braking belay device.
Caution: the hand must always remain on the rope.
USE COUNCIL
We recommend using an HMS Bruce Steel FG, HMS Strike FG or
HMS Strike Slider FG carabiner. If you opt for another
carabiner, be sure to use an HMS locking carabiner (pear-shaped
), if possible with anti-twist protection, and ensure that
the belay device is in contact with the wide side of the carabiner. A
carabiner with a narrow/pointy shape in contact with the belay device can hamper the braking effect.
