PREPARE YOUR SQUASH BALL AND WARM IT UP BEFORE PLAYING.
Heat and cold have a considerable effect on ball performance. When it's cold, balls will heat up more slowly and rebounds will be lower for all types of ball. Don't be surprised if you have to use a blue or red ball in very cold weather. Conversely, the warmer it is, the higher the bounce, so you can counter this effect by using a low-bounce ball like the yellow dot or double yellow dot.
SQUASH BALL AND COURT TEMPERATURE
Like all squash balls, you'll need to "warm up" the ball to take full advantage of its qualities.
To do this, simply position yourself near the T and hit the ball against the wall several times. After about ten hits, you'll feel the ball heating up. When it's hot enough, you can start playing all over the pitch and enjoy your game.
HOW DO YOU KNOW WHEN YOUR BALL HAS WORN OUT?
New squash balls have a matt, rough appearance. Depending on the court, the string and the shots you play, your ball will deteriorate more or less quickly. When you notice a lot of scratches and a shiny appearance, it's time to change your squash ball. You can still use it, but the ball will rocket. It will slide on the floor or walls and eventually burst.
Change it first!
