The recommended pressure for a basketball is clearly indicated on the ball by each manufacturer.
Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge to be precise.

Which ball size to choose?

The size of the ball depends on the age or sex of the player.
Size 1 : From 2 years old
Size 3 to size 5 : Girl or boy from 4 to 6 years old / Category U7 Baby basketball (according to levels and clubs)
Size 5 : Boy and girl from 7 to 10 years old / Category U9 Mini poussins and U11 poussins
Size 6 : Boy from 11 and 12 years old / Category U13 Benjamins
Size 6 : Girls - Women all ages from 11 years old
Size 7 : Boy - Man all ages from 13 years old

Which ball to play basketball with?

If you're looking for a hard-wearing ball, opt for a rubber ball. If you want a ball with a good touch, you'll need a leather or synthetic ball.

What height basketball hoop should I choose?

The regulation height of a basketball hoop is 3.05 m (hoop height).
If you're looking for a basketball backboard for a child, you'll need a hoop with a height-adjustment system.
For the youngest children, there is no official height, so you can choose the height that suits them.
Up to the age of 10, children play in clubs on 2.60 m baskets.
After the age of 10, girls and boys play on 3.05 m basketball backboards.
