TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Why is the Tarmak K500 the right ball for your child to discover basketball?

Basketball is a sport of dexterity and skill.
To help your child discover this sport, we've designed a ball that's 30% lighter than a ball of the same size. This makes it easier for them to make their first baskets and passes.
The ball's envelope is covered with a layer of foam to make it softer than a conventional envelope. This makes the ball less traumatic than other balls, and therefore promotes confidence.

The K500? ball is the perfect ball for playing with the Hoop 500 Easy!

The ideal ball for playing with the Hoop 500 Easy (the Tarmak basketball hoop that can be installed anywhere) is the K500 ball Tarmak.
The K500 is a size 4 basketball that's lighter than a conventional ball. Adapted to the size of the Hoop 500 Easy's hoop, it also enables every player, especially the smallest, to shoot further and further away!

Which ball size to choose?

The size of the ball depends on the age or sex of the player.
Size 1 : From 2 years old
Size 3 to size 5 : Girl or boy from 4 to 6 years old / Category U7 Baby basketball (according to levels and clubs)
Size 5 : Boy and girl from 7 to 10 years old / Category U9 Mini poussins and U11 poussins
Size 6 : Boy from 11 and 12 years old / Category U13 Benjamins
Size 6 : Girls - Women all ages from 11 years old
Size 7 : Boy - Man all ages from 13 years old

For a good rebound, what pressure should you inflate your K500 basketball to?

An over-inflated or under-inflated basketball won't give you the best feel for the game.
The recommended pressure of a basketball is clearly indicated on the ball by each manufacturer.
Ideally, you should use a pump with a pressure gauge to be precise.
We recommend inflating your K500 ball to : 0.35 bar.
Enjoy the game!

What height basketball hoop should I choose?

The regulation height for a basketball hoop is 3.05m (hoop height).
If you're looking for a basketball backboard for a child, you'll need a hoop with a height-adjustment system.
There's no official height for the little ones, so you can choose the height that suits them.
Up to the age of 10, children play club basketball on 2.60m backboards.
After the age of 10, boys and girls play on 3.05m backboards.
