Design
It was by observing Futsal players on outdoor pitches that our design team thought up and conceived this Futsal ball.
Resistant thanks to its hybrid construction: for the design of this ball, we mixed the comfort of machine stitching with the resistance of hand stitching.
What's more, we chose a more abrasion-resistant PU and a winded bladder (2 kilometers of thread winding around the bladder) to guarantee more resistant inflation and better sphericity.
Weight
Between 410 and 430 grams.
Circumference
Between 62.5 and 63.5cm.
Sphericity
Variation of the measured average: maximum 1.5%.
We measure the sphericity of the ball at 16 different points and look at the deviations observed.
If the deviation exceeds 1.5% (FIFA PRO standard), our engineers are tasked with improving the sphericity to guarantee a regular rebound.
Maximum pressure loss
20% in 72 hours.
Rebound
Between 55cm and 65cm with a maximum difference of 10cm between the highest and lowest bounce per ball. Each ball is released 10 times onto a steel plate from a height of 2 meters.
Precision
Our Design team rolls the ball down an inclined plane towards a table. The orientation of the stroke and the variation in the stroke angle are measured: maximum deviation of 5° tolerated.
Shape retention and pressure
The balloon withstands 2,500 shots against an inclined concrete surface at 50km/h from a distance of 2.5m | Increase in circumference by a maximum of 1cm | Change in sphericity by a maximum of 1.5% and a change in pressure by a maximum of 12.5%.
Futsal passion at the heart of our design!
Based at the Kipstadium (a site with several practice fields) in Northern France, a team of enthusiasts works specifically on Futsal. These DECATHLON men and women imagine and design products and services exclusive to the sport.
We are constantly striving to improve the comfort and safety of Futsal players.
