YOU'RE AN EXPERT SURFER
Surfing is your passion, and you practice it regularly in warm waters. During your sessions, you paddle to the line up, ducking or turtling, depending on whether you're on a shortboard or longboard. You surf waves of over a meter and know how to maneuver. You often fall and are used to being shaken underwater. You want your swimsuit to stay in place every time you move, and not get in the way when you're paddling.
MORPHOLOGY
We created the MAS briefs to enable the young surfer to surf without the worry of losing her swimsuit in the waves. With its sporty look design, these knickers offer ideal coverage and a drawstring for perfect hold in the wave.
WAVE HOLDING TEST
We design swimsuits whose promise is to hold up in the wave. To evaluate them, we call on a panel of at least 12 surfers of different morphologies to follow a pool test protocol in our design offices in Hendaye. The aim of this protocol is to reproduce the sensations experienced by the surfer when she is tossed about by a wave. If the test is conclusive, we head out to sea to test our swimwear in real-life conditions.
GIRL'S SWIMSUIT SIZE
At Decathlon, we design swimsuits for young surfers with their growth in mind, which is why we systematically associate stature with size, i.e. the child's height, since age alone does not guarantee the right size. In fact, two 10-year-old girls can have totally different heights, measurements, weights and morphologies. We also recommend an in-cabin fitting if possible.
OUR GIRLS' SWIMSUIT STATURES
Here's the link between age and stature on our swimwear labels:
4/5 years: from 105 to 114 cm
5/6 years: from 115 to 124 cm
7/8 years: from 125 to 132 cm
8/9 years: from 133 to 142 cm
10/11 years: from 143 to 150 cm
12/13 years: from 151 to 160 cm
14/15 years: from 161 to 169 cm
DRY CUTTING AND WET CUTTING
To ensure a perfect fit in the water, we have to adjust our models when dry, because once in the water, swimwear relaxes. We therefore advise you to choose the right size. The swimsuit must fit snugly on your body in the cabin, so you feel supported. The elastane contained in some of the components used in our swimsuits softens and relaxes in the water.
