What are boardshorts?
A boardshort is a term used to designate a swimsuit in the surfing world.
Practical and comfortable, boardshorts are suitable for both men and women.
Boardshorts were originally developed in the 1950s for surfing. In recent years, they have become a popular form of swim short.
The name "boardshort" derives from their use in board-based water sports such as surfing.

How to choose your boardshort size?
Size guide on product page.
100 boardshorts are available in sizes S to XXL.
500 and 900 boardshorts are available in sizes 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48.
Your body type may influence your choice of size.
We always recommend that you try on your swimsuit before buying. Tighten your swimsuit and gradually pull it down. If it comes down easily, it's probably too big, and you may be in for a few surprises in the waves!
How to choose boardshorts to fit your belt?
ELASTIC BELT
Helps the boardshort adapt to different body shapes.
SEMI-ELASTIC BELT
Ensures a good fit while providing adaptability for everyone.
FLAT BELT
Provides good boardshort support during ducking and wipeouts in the waves.
MORPHOLOGICAL ADAPTABILITY BELT
Combines the advantages of the elastic belt (adaptability to different body shapes) and the flat belt (support in the waves).
Wave resistance Range 100
When you're surfing, whether it's because of a duck or a wipeout, it's not easy to have to reposition your boardshorts while rowing because they've slipped halfway down your buttocks...
Choosing the right boardshort belt for surfing then becomes essential.
Choose an elastic or semi-elastic waistband with a drawstring that goes all the way around the waist.
The BS100 15" boardshort has a fully elastic waistband with drawstring.
Reduces irritation Range 100
This is surely the most important criterion when choosing a pair of swim shorts.
It's not uncommon for rubbing of the swimsuit or boardshorts to irritate the skin.
Our boardshorts are designed, both in terms of the shapes offered and the assembly methods, to limit irritation as much as possible during the time you spend in the water.
On the 100 range of our swim shorts, the inner mesh or briefs help to limit the appearance of these annoying irritations.
Freedom of movement 100 range
When surfing, bodyboarding or bodysurfing, the legs are under great strain, so boardshorts must not restrict flexion/extension or swimming.
A bi-directional (2 horizontal directions) or quadri-directional (4 horizontal and vertical directions) elastic component contributes to this freedom of movement.
A short cut (less than 17 inches) also facilitates movement and support of the lower body in particular.
Fast drying 100 range
It's quite disturbing to feel the sand sticking to your boardshort because it's still soaked in water, or even worse, to feel the boardshort fabric sticking to your skin.
To avoid this and to maximize comfort when wearing your wet swimsuit, we recommend choosing swim shorts made from a synthetic-fiber textile component. Water will evaporate more quickly, the swimsuit will dry faster and irritation will be controlled.
How to choose boardshorts according to length?
Short cuts (between 14" and 17") give you freedom of movement and allow you to practice a multitude of water sports, including surfing (for occasional sessions of less than 1 hour).
Long cuts (between 17" and 20") limit irritation from the board or wax at the thighs, then at the top of the knees when paddling. These cuts are therefore better suited to regular, even intensive surfing.
Pockets
The standard boardshort 100 is equipped with three pockets, two of which are on the sides. The pockets are made of mesh to efficiently wick away sand and water.
Belt
The standard boardshort 100 is fitted with an elasticated waistband to help with morphological adaptability and wave hold when falling through the waves.
Inner briefs
The standard boardshort 100 is equipped with a BOSSIS stretch mesh inner brief that provides support and limits chafing.
Sun protection: The essential boardshort equipment
On hot summer days, when the water is cooler, surfers tend to prolong their surfing sessions without adapting their equipment. The risk of sunburn is therefore multiplied.
Did you know?
10 to 15% of UV rays are reflected on the water, while 40 to 95% penetrate 25 cm underwater. That's why boardshorts, combined with sun protection (UV top, etc.), are becoming the essential equipment for warm-water practice.
