TECHNICAL INFORMATION

To help you catch more waves, we make our products as intuitive and educational as possible.

That's why this bodyboard features an ergonomic deck that allows you to spontaneously get into the right position.
The supplied leash can be attached to either the wrist or the biceps (exclusive to OLAIAN), depending on your preference.
Indications of the user's height and wave size are permanently marked on the board.
A QR code on the underside gives you access to tutorials and other useful information: maintenance, 2nd life, etc.

Size guide / How to choose your bodyboard size?

Bodyboard size has a direct influence on stability and maneuverability. It must be adapted to the user's size. This 500 bodyboard is available in 4 sizes, depending on the user's height:
Size 38" if you're between 1m35 and 1m55
Size 40" between 1m55 and 1m70
Size 41.5" between 1m70 and 1m85
Size 43.5" over 1m85
A bodyboard that's too small won't float enough, so you'll miss out on waves.
A bodyboard that's too big will be harder to handle.

We design bodyboard products according to 4 levels of practice: Discoverer, Beginner, Advanced and Expert.

Construction adapted to the size and conditions of use: Advanced level.

This bodyboard features a high-density slick, a dense EPO foam core (30Kg/m3), 2 fiberglass stringers and a new 128g EPE cover. This construction ensures good responsiveness and solidity in the expected conditions.
If the waves are >1m50, prefer the bodyboard 900 whose PP core is denser and will resist better to shocks and maneuver receptions.
Wear other than breakage is repairable, check on the internet and in store.

Did you know? Using fins allows you to catch 2 to 3 times more waves!

When the water rises above the navel, it's very difficult to catch waves without fins. In fact, it's no longer possible to propel yourself by pushing your feet to the ground, and paddling with your arms is often insufficient.
So we've found that using flippers allows you to catch 2 to 3 times more waves, and therefore more fun!
In fact, flippers allow you to move faster and considerably increase propulsion when taking off.
Flippers: Think about it!

To practice properly, you need to position yourself correctly on the bodyboard.

The preformed bridge indicates the correct position for hands and elbows. Nose bumps at the front provide a better grip.
When catching a wave, both hands are at the front.
To go left, keep your left hand in front (hand, elbow and shoulder must be aligned, arm at 90°) and move your right hand over the right rail to the middle of the board. Align your left leg with the left rail to hold your direction.
Proceed in reverse to go right.

Tips to avoid chafing and ensure good adhesion to the board.

During the gliding phase, this bodyboard is best used lying down. It's important to wear a long-sleeved anti-UV top or a neoprene wetsuit to avoid chafing on the stomach and arms.
For a good grip on the bodyboard, we recommend applying wax (available separately in the surf department) to the top, particularly on the front of the board at hand level, on the sides and on the stomach. Repeat the operation every session.

Safety rules and behaviour in the water - Part 1.

Bodyboarding is a fantastic sport that requires certain fundamental rules to be respected for everyone's enjoyment and safety.
1- Find out about and observe the characteristics of the spot: current, rocks, tidal influence, wave size, number of people in the water...
2- Don't overestimate your level and prefer an easier spot if conditions exceed your abilities.
3- Use the right equipment: leash, fins and board in good condition, suitable neoprene wetsuit.

Safety rules and behavior in the water - Part 2.

4- Respect the rules of priority on the wave: priority to whoever is closest to the breaker.
5- Go around the breaker zone when you go up to the peak to avoid cutting the path of another rider.
6- Use flippers if the water level is higher than your hips.
7- If you don't use flippers, we recommend that you practice in the safe swimming area. Ask the lifeguards on site for more information.
8- Practice with others.

Do not leave exposed to extreme heat.

When not in use, take care not to expose your bodyboard to the sun or to temperatures >50°C.
Protect your bodyboard in a cover, under an umbrella, in the shade or under a light towel, to prevent it from overheating.
Avoid leaving it in a car in direct sunlight.
Exposure to excessive heat can result in blisters or bubbles forming on the board, or even deformation of the board.
