How do the headphones work?
The headset features a button for switching on and off: a beep accompanies switch-on and switch-off. Two buttons (+ / -) are used to adjust the amplification volume. These are active headphones: they feature a sound modulation system to keep in touch with the environment, while attenuating acoustic shocks (ambient noise is reduced, but audible frequencies are maintained).
Our recommendations for use
Depending on your shooting style (ball-trap, hunting...) and location (shooting range, plain, forest...), you can adapt the amplification volume. You should be able to hear your surroundings, but there's no need to "over-amplify". Please note:
-if you're outdoors, be aware that the wind can blow the microphones around.
-Don't use the headset with the amplification system switched off: it won't protect you effectively.
What is the hearing protection level for this helmet?
SNR=26dB.
This value (Single Number Rating) provides information on the protective effect of hearing protection products. For example, these earmuffs with an SNR of 25 reduce the noise level to which you are exposed by up to 25 decibels.
H=29dB, M=23dB, L=16dB

What makes this Sportac helmet different
The intelligent active hearing protection system. Thanks to the smooth adjustment of its variable-level listening function, this device offers the user particularly pleasant sound reproduction with little interference. The electronic system acts as a breaker, protecting the user's hearing from strong sound impulses. Please note: the combined volume of the external input and the ambient sound function is limited to 82dB effective at the ear.
