MIPS Technology
The FR 900 is equipped with the MIPS anti-rotation system. Its aim is to reduce the rotational energy of an impact and thus limit the risk of brain damage.
The low-friction layer (yellow layer under the helmet cap) allows a multidirectional movement of 10 to 15mm during certain oblique impacts, aimed at reducing the rotational force transmitted to the head and brain.
RECCO System
The RECCO® Rescue System is a two-part technology used by rescue services in most ski resorts. The RECCO® detector used by rescue workers emits a directional signal. The RECCO® reflector in the helmet reflects this signal. The rescuer then hears an audible signal directing him precisely to the buried person. Before going out, it's essential to check with the station's professionals.
Hybrid construction
ABS/In-Mold
Light Shell Construction makes it possible to produce lightweight helmets. This technique, known as In-Mold, forms an outer shell directly molded onto the inner EPS cap.
ABS, a rigid shell that is slightly heavier at the top of the skull, increases protection against penetration (branches, rocks, etc.)
We recommend changing your ski helmet every 5 years at the most if it has not suffered a major impact in the interim.
Ventilation
The FR 900 MIPS helmet features highly efficient ventilation.
2 ventilation modes by manipulating the paddle on the back of the helmet:
- Passive: For use when stationary. Evacuates heat and humidity through all the holes on the top of the helmet (chimney effect).
- Active: For use when skiing. Air enters under the cap, circulates through the interior channels and exits through the rear extraction grille. In this position, the top holes are closed.
Turnring System
The Turnring is an essential part of your helmet's fit. This system allows easy, precise adjustment at all times, thanks to a knob that's accessible even when wearing ski gloves. It gives you maximum comfort and safety. Turn the knob to the right to tighten, to the left to loosen.
EN 1077 STANDARD
EN 1077:2007 class B is a European standard applicable to helmets used for cranial protection during downhill skiing or snowboarding. This standard is characterized by tests on impact absorption capacity and penetration resistance.
