European standard setting out the requirements and test methods for helmets to be worn by users of rollerblades, skateboards, scooters and bicycles. The requirements and corresponding test methods cover the following aspects: construction, including the field of vision ; shock absorption properties; characteristics of the retention system, including chinstrap and tightening devices; marking and information.
WHEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE YOUR HELMET?
We recommend changing your helmet in 2 cases:
1/ After a fall:
In the event of a fall, the material of your helmet may deteriorate or even break. Sometimes, you may not even notice it. That's why we advise you to replace it at the slightest doubt.
2/ After 5 years of use:
The foam deteriorates. It can be damaged by impact, storage, climate and use. We therefore advise you to change your helmet at least every 5 years.
HOW TO ADJUST YOUR HEADSET
3 quick steps to adjust your helmet in 2 minutes:
1/ If necessary, put your ponytail on the back of the helmet (pull down the ring on the knob).
2/ Adjust and clip the buckle on the 2 straps: check that you can still slip 2 fingers between the strap and your chin.
3/
The helmet must be in contact with your head, without tilting forwards, backwards or sideways, even when you're moving.
