Sizes and weights
Belt available in 2 sizes (M and L)
- the smallest holds 6 kg in its 4 pockets (2x2 kg + 2x1 kg). It measures a maximum of 128 cm and weighs 375 g
- the largest can hold 8 kg in its 4 pockets (4x2 kg). It measures a maximum of 135 cm and weighs 400 g.
The belt buckles can be adjusted for a better fit.
The pockets can hold any type of ballast: raw, coated or soft shot.
Which size to choose?
To load your ballast, we recommend that you place the weights on your hips first, before filling the back pockets.
This not only avoids having too much weight on your kidneys, but also distributes the ballast more evenly and thus balances the diver better.
We recommend that you try on your belt to check that the two furthest pockets are positioned on your hips.
An anti-slip strip is provided for better adhesion to the wetsuit's neoprene.
What influences ballasting?
1/ Your physiology (weight) and body mass index (weight/height).
2/ The water: seawater offers more buoyancy (you weigh more) than freshwater.
3/ Your wetsuit: depending on the thickness of the neoprene, you float more or less.
4/ The weight of your tank (for scuba diving) and the volume of air contained in it: the more air you consume, the lighter your tank becomes, and buoyancy tends to become positive (you float!).
