Why use a weight belt?
This weight-bearing belt provides extra support and facilitates increased abdominal pressure when lifting heavy loads (over 80% of your maximum repetition). This pressure acts as a kind of protection, keeping the spine aligned.
By using the belt for support, your abdominal and lumbar muscles remain under tension throughout the exercise, reducing the risk of frequent lower back injuries.
What exercises can this belt be used for?
Unlike the leather belt, this bodybuilding belt will allow you to perform dynamic movements, particularly during cross-training sessions when you need to do a lot of repetitions.
You can perform dynamic movements such as:
- squats: front squat, overhead squat...
- deadlift: classic and sumo
- rowing
- military bench press
- clean and jerk
- snatch
How do I put on a bodybuilding belt?
To put on the bodybuilding belt:
- fasten it over your hips, tightening moderately with the 1st velcro system
- tighten more with the 2nd velcro system.
For experts looking for a better fit, pull in your stomach slightly to move to the top notch. This will increase abdominal pressure.
If you find it hard to breathe as you expand your chest, the belt is too tight. In this case, loosen it one notch.
An exclusive locking system
After each set of exercises, remember to loosen your belt and avoid wearing it all the time, as this can increase your blood pressure.
However, you can easily loosen it in a single movement and keep it around your waist during your rest phases. Its suppleness provides optimum comfort for deep breathing.
Have you thought about all these accessories for your practice?
For a firm grip on the deadlift, combine our bodybuilding belt with our tightening straps (ref. 8642608).
You can also add our knee pads (ref. 8548500) to provide warmth for your joints, reducing the risk of injury.
Did you know: why choose a bodybuilding belt with a tapered cut?
What is a tapered cut? It's a cut that's wider in the back and thinner in the abdomen. This gives you greater freedom of movement in the torso and avoids any limitations on upper-body movement during exercise.
