How are the strength and durability of the NH500 MID CUIR WP hiking boot determined?
Laboratory tests are carried out to validate the following elements: eyelet and strap tearing, gluing, toxicology, UV resistance, abrasion of sole and upper components, accelerated ageing.
These tests enable us to improve the quality of our products and prevent premature wear of our hiking boots.
How comfortable are NH500 MID CUIR WP hiking boots?
The singular promise of our nature hiking shoes is exacerbated comfort for the wearer. We've added a range of foot-care ingredients to this shoe, such as EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) midsoles and insoles, and a synthetic foam collar (upper part of the heel) for added comfort.
We've also eliminated seams in the heel area to avoid any discomfort.
How do the soles of NH500 MID CUIR WP hiking boots grip on footpaths?
The design of the sole was the subject of extensive research in our laboratories. We have chosen a specific rubber formulation to optimize grip and adhesion. We systematically seek the best compromise for use on loose or mineral footpaths (forest or coastal type).
Use on roads may accelerate wear and cause discomfort. They are not suitable for high mountain hiking.
Which pair of socks should I use with my NH500 MID CUIR WP hiking boots?
These shoes offer some breathability, but not enough to wick away all the moisture from your perspiration. We therefore advise you to choose hike 100 low or mid socks. They contain moisture-absorbing cotton. They also have a loop construction that wicks moisture away from your feet. They're also high enough to protect your ankle from the shoe. It's an excellent combination for limiting the appearance of blisters.
How waterproof are these NH500 MID CUIR WP shoes?
We've made sure your shoes are waterproof with laboratory tests simulating walking with feet half-submerged in water, and with use and aging tests in the field. In the laboratory waterproofing test, we test 3 levels of waterproofness: 2000 flexes (30-minute walk), 10000 flexes (3-hour hike) and 30000 flexes (6-hour hike). Your shoe model has been tested up to 10000 flexes, equivalent to a 3-hour hike.
