TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Experience

The 580 is ideal for all advanced skiers. The Flex setting (Index 70 or 80) allows you to choose between a forgiving or sporty boot. You can widen the top of the shaft to suit your calf shape. The medium volume allows a maximum number of foot shapes to be accommodated, while offering a very good compromise between comfort and support. The shell provides excellent shin support and a very good distribution of support.
It's up to you to choose your pace!

Flex adjustment

The 580's Flex adjustment is very effective:
Use a key to switch from the "Softer" position (softer and more forgiving) to the "Stiffer" position (stiffer and more precise/reactive).
Example: start your ski trip in the "Softer" position to regain sensations and for less physical effort, then switch to the "Stiffer" position for a sportier end to your trip.
An ideal boot for progressing to the next level.

CALF ADJUSTMENT

The women's 580 has a flared upper, allowing women's calves to fit more easily. We've added an extra adjustment feature: under the strap are 2 screws (to be gently adjusted with a wrench) that allow you to gain up to 2cm of calf circumference.
Each skier can thus adjust the width of the calf according to her morphology, and above all minimize discomfort in this area.

HOOK ADJUSTMENT

The 580 is equipped with 4 micrometric aluminum hooks for powerful, precise clamping. You can adjust the length of the hook by screwing or unscrewing, for customized tightening. The 2 top hooks have 3 positions to adapt to all calves (including 1 without tools). A wide adjustment strap at the top of the stem provides powerful, easy tightening of the upper shell.

What is FLEX?

To give an indication of the shoe's rigidity, brands define a Flex index for each shoe. This number determines the boot's rigidity: the higher the value, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 60 is considered suitable for beginners. A flex of 70 to 90 is designed for experienced skiers. Beyond that, products are designed for expert skiers. However, larger skiers can move up a level.

How do you know if the shoe you're trying on is the right size?

Once the foot is in the shoe, close the hooks halfway. Can you go any further? This means that the shoe's volume doesn't suit you. Once your shoes are closed, perform 3 large flexions by pressing hard on your shins (put your hands on your knees) to move your heel back into the shoe. Stand up straight: you should be able to touch the tip of the shell. When flexing, your foot should move backwards and you should no longer be able to feel the toe.

What to do about foot pain

1- Choose a thin, technical ski sock to avoid pressure points and promote blood circulation in the foot.
2- Choose a sole adapted to the shape of your foot to prevent it from crushing against the shell. Ask a sales assistant for advice.

Is my liner thermoformable, and what is the purpose of thermoforming?

The liner of the 580 is thermoformable at the malleoli. Thermoforming is not compulsory, but helps to reduce discomfort zones.
Here, the foam can heat up to take on the shape of your feet and the shell of the shoe. This reinforces the foot-insole-shell compatibility, reducing discomfort points.

How do I store my ski boots?

1- Aerate your shoes by removing the liner inside the plastic shells.
2- Close the hooks at the first notch to prevent the shoes from deforming and, if possible, store them in a cover.
3- Store them, if possible, in a dry place where the temperature is unlikely to fall below 10°C. The shoe's plastic will thank you!
