What's the difference between skateboarding without laces?
Despite the absence of laces on this model, foot support remains optimal, thanks in particular to the reinforced strips that secure the tongue on both sides to guarantee good support and excellent grip.
What is a vulcanized sole?
A vulcanized sole, a staple of the skateboarding world, is a sole made from hot-bonded rubber. The vulcanization process welds together the fabric upper, the rubber band and the sole. The advantages of this technique are many: flexibility, grip and lightness. It gives you a good feel for your skateboard and the precision you need to perform tricks.
What's the difference between high and low shoes?
Aside from the question of style, high and low shoes do not offer the same advantages.
While a high upper provides a more stable foot, and a better supported, protected ankle, a low shoe will offer greater range of movement and more lightness.
How solid is the new VULCA 500 II?
Hidden Rubber Toecap (HRT): laminated rubber reinforcement under the leather
This additional reinforcement, both resistant and discreet, delays the appearance of holes on the side of your shoes as a result of repetitive aggression from the board's grip.
In addition, the shoe's outsole is 11% thicker to resist even more wear and tear, without compromising boardfeel and grip.
A cutting edge specially designed for skateboarding
The skateboard boot is the interface between the skater's body and the board. That's why it's important for the boot to be relatively close to the foot, for maximum precision and control of the board.
We took customer feedback into account and decided to redesign a new, slimmer, narrower shape. This shape, closer to the foot, gives you a better feel for the board during tricks, as well as greater precision and control in all situations.
How to choose the right size of skate shoes?
New vulcanized skate shoes are generally quite narrow when first worn, especially Slip-Ons. They adjust after a few hours' wear (the vulcanized band deforms to fit the foot). Ideally, therefore, you should choose a fitted skate shoe. For thin feet, we advise you to take your usual size. For wide feet, don't hesitate to go up a size, especially for everyday wear.
Cast polyurethane insole for greater comfort and protection on landings.
The polyurethane insole provides long-lasting shock absorption while preserving the boardfeel.
With a thickness of 9mm in the heel and 5mm in the forefoot, this insole is not afraid of gaps.
The compression set of the polyurethane is very low, so this insole will retain its initial shape and technical characteristics for a long time.
