The right shoe for you
The shape of the Eskudo women's shoe is based on scans of women's feet, to adapt to your morphology. And following feedback from our field testers, the tongue of the shoe is made entirely of mesh, a softer, more breathable material.
Finally, if you'd like an even more personalized shoe, you can inscribe your name, first name or number on your shoes via the Atelier service in your DECATHLON store!
More protection and resistance for futsal? We tell you all about it:
- The sole is reinforced on the inside of the foot for added support and stability.
- The higher shank on the back of the heel and the reinforcement on the back of the shoe give you added protection and support.
- On the inside of the foot, the lateral reinforcement in resistant PU protects your shoe against premature wear: no more need for tape!
- In the sides of the shoe, the strap system improves your support when you tighten your laces.
Futsal soles, or futsal soles?
In addition to their sala outsole, your shoes have an insole designed specifically for futsal:
- Its preformed shape gives you more cushioning.
- The perforated, breathable material of the insole facilitates heat evacuation.
And what about the outsole?
- Made of natural rubber, it gives you better support on smooth surfaces.
- The Circular System increases cushioning in the heel area.
Benjamin, designer at Kipsta , tells the story of a shoe developed especially for futsal:
"It was exciting to break away from 11-a-side soccer: we didn't want to just put a sala sole on a classic shoe. We looked for the typical elements of futsal and put our own spin on them.
The first idea is often the best: between the first shoe design and the finished product, there were very few changes. I thought it was beautiful: everything we put into the design, we managed to transcend. The result is a shoe that breathes futsal."
So what does a design conceived for futsal look like?
Here are just a few of the details of a shoe designed for the technique and intensity of futsal:
- The topstitching on the front of the shoe provides extra resistance for futsal's changes of pace
- The foxing (the PU strip) on the ball of the foot helps you to make pointus.
- The sole, called "non-marking", is designed not to leave marks on sports hall floors.
- You can choose between a textile or synthetic upper depending on the model!
Eskudo: the DNA of futsal
Escudo means "shield" in Spanish, or "shield" in Portuguese. Two countries with a passion for futsal. Tiago, our product manager, explains the choice of name:
"Futsal is a high-impact sport, with lots of movement. It's important to protect the player; we need more cushioning. We wanted to emphasize the protection and resistance that this shoe provides."
How do our field tests work?
"We're lucky enough to be able to test the shoes on the Kisptadium pitches in Tourcoing, where they're designed. And above all, to collaborate with female futsal players and our partners at DECATHLON. We've used their feedback to improve the shoe's fit for women's feet."
