Why choose a specific shoe for race walking?
So you don't walk in running shoes!
Biomechanical studies carried out by Decathlon SportsLab with our technical partners have highlighted the specific needs of the foot in race walking: angle of attack on the ground, trajectory of foot pressure zones and intensity of the propulsion phase.
The choice of components, the geometry of the sole and the shape of the upper enable our race walking shoes to meet these needs perfectly.
*What is the Heel Roll concept?
The Heel Roll concept is based on a sole geometry in which the rear outer part of the heel is raised and rounded.
Studies carried out by Decathlon SportsLab have shown that during athletic walking, when the foot lands on the ground, it tilts from back to front and from outside to inside.
It was to guide and naturally stabilize this movement that our design teams created the Heel Roll geometry.
Sole composition
The sole is made up of 4 elements:
- SHANK plate: internal reinforcement to better absorb shocks during heel strike, then distribute them towards the front of the foot for greater dynamism.
- EVA foam (white): lightweight material for better cushioning.
- KALENSOLE EVA foam (red): provides good cushioning, energy transfer and greater stability. Resistance up to 1000km.
- Improved rubber for greater abrasion resistance while maintaining grip.
Non Marking
Non-marking sole, leaving no marks on the floor.
Removable insole
Removable insole for faster drying. Can also be replaced by an orthopedic insole.
