Why do I need to wear padel-specific shoes?
Padel is played on synthetic turf with sand. This makes it extremely slippery to move. Padel shoes feature a sole with a specific geometry to give you the grip you need for players of all levels. They also provide lateral stability, foot support and shock-absorbing cushioning.
Sole pattern: Herringbone sole
This sole has also been called herringbone, wave or clay sole. You can recognize it by its wave-like pattern. It's the most widely used sole in regular padel, thanks to its good grip and ability to make long glides at the end of the court. It also offers greater resistance and is ideal for competitions on synthetic turf or sand.
Midsole: Injected EVA
This shoe offers a harmonious combination of hard-wearing comfort and support, thanks to the injection of EVA foam into the midsole for a more dynamic response.
Mesh upper: stay dry all game long
The Kuikma PS 500 features a mesh upper with excellent breathability and flexibility for optimum comfort that keeps your feet cool.
How to choose the right padel shoes?
Padel shoes have a major influence on sporting success, and several aspects need to be taken into account: comfort (the length of your foot, your shoe size, materials, etc.); cushioning (cushioning technologies, e.g. injected EVA foam at Kuikma); stability (laces, a piece of fabric that fastens around the ankle and is incorporated so that your foot doesn't move); grip (sturdy soles); and resistance.
