TECHNICAL INFORMATION

How is the grip defined on the NH500 TW children's shoe?

The grip of our soles is labelled.
To qualify, the shoe must pass laboratory tests to evaluate the grip coefficient on different surfaces (smooth, rough, dry, wet).
To approve these tests, we then have the quality of our soles evaluated in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of child testers.

How to choose the right size for the NH500 TW children's hiking boot?

When hiking, don't hesitate to choose a size larger than your child's usual shoe size. This will ensure optimum comfort on the descent, and prevent toes from digging into the shoe's bottom. Tip: keep your child's fingernails short and, before going downhill, check that the Velcro and/or laces are properly fastened to prevent the foot from sliding forward.

How can I be sure that the NH500 TW hiking boot is right for my child?

Have your child try on both shoes, standing up, wearing the socks used for hiking.
Two points of comfort should be checked: the heel seat and the forefoot on descents. Avoid compression points when trying them on.
We also recommend that you gradually introduce your child to the NH500 TW hiking boots on his or her first hikes. This way, they'll get used to his feet.

Is the insole of the NH500 TW children's hiking boot removable?

The insole of the NH500 TW children's shoe is removable for faster drying. It can also be replaced by an orthopedic insole.
