The Advance 500, a design story
The story of the Advance 500 rugby shoe began three years ago. With the desire to offer expert rugby players a good, comfortable, resistant shoe with plenty of support, which meets the requirements of their level of play. Our design team teamed up with ambassadors, Decathlon employees with a passion for rugby, to come up with this shoe. After more than a dozen prototypes, we are delighted to offer you this versatile shoe.
Your comfort is our priority
To design the Advance 500, we focused on one key area: your comfort. "Using a scanner, we measured the feet of over 700 rugby players, both children and adults, from the Lille area. We realized that rugby players' feet are on average one size bigger than the average European foot", explains Raphaël, product engineer at Offload. Plan on an extra size to leave room for thick socks and to allow your feet to swell during the match.
A shoe that combines lightweight support and durability
The versatility of this shoe is apparent at first glance. The soft, supple front part expresses agility and speed. The rear part, on the other hand, expresses resistance. It has been reinforced to give you a feeling of support. The liner reinforces this feeling of support, and the rigid sole hugs the natural curves of the foot.
Touch of the ball
The Advance 500 is made from a thin material that gives it a second-skin feel. As a result, you feel more of the ball when you touch it. The ball's feel is enhanced by the honeycomb material on the forefoot, which gives you a feeling of grip on the ball when you strike it.
