One of the world's largest studies.
For many years, researchers around the world
have been studying shoe cushioning without knowing whether a link really exists between the cushioning mechanical properties of shoes and injuries.
In 2018, Decathlon decided to carry out a study counting
848 participants, 27 761 running sessions, in partnership
with the LIH (cf. Luxembourg Institute of Health).
What for?
Confirming the link between cushioning and injury. In this study, two cushioning conditions
were tested: a soft shoe (61 N/mm) versus a stiff
shoe (95 N/mm). The results of this study are clear
: 25% fewer injured runners with the soft shoe.
It was on the strength of this study that the soft cushioning of the FLOW saga was created, targeting the preference index of soft cushioning.
WHAT IS THE DROP OF THE JOGFLOW 500.1 RUNNING SHOE?
The "drop" is the difference in height between the rear (heel) and front (forefoot) of the shoe.
Unlike the 10-millimeter drop offered by other running brands, KALENJI has decided to offer a 4-millimeter drop on its Jogflow 500.1. The aim? To invite runners to attack the ground with the forefoot, helping them to adopt a more natural stride and limit the risk of injury.
