Classic clamping system
The liner is effectively tightened with an easy-to-use lace and blocker. The external tightening is a classic lace, easy to use for all, and allowing customization of the tightening according to each person's morphology and needs.
Shoe flexibility and rigidity
Soft flex is a deliberate choice on our part. It provides comfort in use, reduces physical fatigue and lets you get the most out of your day. It also has the advantage of helping beginners adopt the right position on their boards: ankles flexed to avoid stiff legs. You need to be responsive when snowboarding, so bending your legs is a must. Starting with a boot that's too stiff would be a handicap.
Flex Up added
The Flex Up (8600870), allows you to stiffen your boot by about 2 flex points out of 10 (with the flex up, this new boot has a stiffness of about 5/10).
This is a plastic accessory that is inserted into the tongue of Decathlon snowboard boots, from the 2022/23 season onwards. A pocket is provided to ensure that it is correctly positioned both vertically and laterally.
Flex Up comes into its own over time: if your boot becomes softer, give it a second life.
Heel support: liner level 1(/3)
Foot support is an essential element in snowboarding for good board control (whether the foot is in the liner or the liner in the boot). The Level 1 liner has 4 advantages:
1. Thermoformable liner from home
2. Comfort Heel Pad" malleolar foam
3. 4-point liner tightening
4. Velcro on upper part of liner
1. Thermoforming the liner independently / CHECK POINTS
THERMOFORMING IS ONLY APPLICABLE ON 56 x 60 x 56 cm FLUSH-IN ELECTRIC OVENS WITH ROTATING HEAT MODE.
DO NOT USE WITH GAS OVENS OR SMALL FURNACES WITH VISIBLE ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE.
1. Independent liner thermoforming / INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
1. Heat your oven to 80°C, fan oven
2. Remove the inner soles of the slippers and place them on an oven tray lined with baking paper
3. Wait 15 min
4. Put the liners back on, slip on the booties with a pair of ski-snowboard socks and tighten them (not too tightly)
5. Put on boots and tighten to 5. Wait 15 minutes in static
This operation can be repeated if necessary.
ONLY ON INSET OVEN 56x60x56 cm
Insole
The insole of this shoe is flat. It provides comfort and thermal insulation.
To increase the cushioning of the foot in the liner, only if you feel the need, you have 2 options:
- Purchase a pre-formed insole in the arch and heel area
- Purchase a thermo-formable insole for your foot. This is the most effective solution.
2. Comfort Heel Pad" malleolar foam
The malleolus foams fill the anatomical hollow below and behind the malleolus to cradle the heel.
The level 1 liner has malleolus foams 10 mm thick, single-material, rather soft.
The aim is to provide heel-foot support in line with the shoe level. Indeed, the faster you go, the more energy you need to support your foot.
Comfort Foam meets this objective by providing maximum comfort for all.
3. 4-point liner tightening
A 4-point tightening system keeps the foot firmly in place. It locks the foot evenly around the ankle.
4. Velcro top
Velcro fastenings at the top of the liner keep the liner tongue in place with the sides, whatever the foot's movements. The result is longer-lasting support all day long.
Sole: grip, cushioning and thermal insulation
Our Ultralight sole is made exclusively of EVA.
EVA is a very light material with 80% air. This formulation is designed to resist abrasion while retaining its cushioning properties. It is naturally highly insulating and protects against the cold coming up from the ground.
We have designed large studs to give you excellent grip. The studs are spaced out to facilitate snow evacuation.
How can I be sure it's the right size?
1. Put on shoe
2. Tighten the shoe
3. Stand up
4. Your big toes touch the tip of the shoe without any uncomfortable pressure
5. Bend your legs forward, your big toes move backwards and no longer touch the tip of the shoe.
