TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Separate clamping system - 2 zones

On the All Road 500, there are 2 independent tightening zones:
1. The micro-adjustable habu®FitSystem (produced by Boa® Technology) for powerful, precise tightening of the lower part of the shoe.
2. Powerful strap to press the shoe against the shin.
Without this strap, with each flexion/extension, the shin becomes less and less tight and the foot more and more compressed. A shorter cable length stops this negative effect.

habu® Fit System (produced by Boa® technology)

The habu®FitSystem combines three important technical elements to transform the experience of snowboarders:
1) the innovative habu® knob ensures micro-adjustable and precise tightening,
2) the habu® cable is lightweight, yet highly resistant with its 75 stainless steel strands.
3) the habu® low-friction lacing guides ensure even pressure distribution while minimizing wear and guaranteeing long life.

How do I repair the habu®FitSystem?

Supplied by BOA Technology Inc, the knurls and laces of the habu® adjustment system have undergone thousands of hours of rigorous laboratory and field testing, and are guaranteed for the life of the boot on which they are integrated.

Shoe flexibility and rigidity

The stiffness (or flex) of the All Road 500 is medium (6/10). It's ideal for riders who need to hold a curve at high speed (i.e., a stiff shoe), while remaining reactive during small turns or surprise bumps that require rapid flexing-extension of the legs. Compared to the Snb 100 shoe, flex and heel support have been boosted.

Flex Up added

The Flex Up (8600870), allows you to stiffen your boot by about 2 flex points out of 10 (with the flex up, this new boot has a stiffness of about 5/10).
This accessory is inserted into the tongue of Decathlon snowboard boots, from the 2022/23 season onwards. A pocket is provided to ensure that it is correctly positioned both vertically and laterally.
Flex Up comes into its own over time: if your boot becomes softer, give it a second lease of life.

Heel support: level 2 liner (/3)

Foot support is an essential element in snowboarding for good board control (whether the foot is in the liner or the liner in the boot). The Level 2 liner has 4 advantages:
1. thermoformable liner from home
2. malleolar foam Ergonomic Heel Pad
3. 2-point liner tightening + shin strap
4. Hook & Loop Link between liner and boot

1. Thermoforming the liner independently / CHECK POINTS

THERMOFORMING IS APPLICABLE ONLY ON ELECTRIC FURNACES WITH HEAT ROLLING MODE 56 x 60 x 56 cm. DO NOT USE WITH A GAS OVEN OR A SMALL AUXILIARY OVEN WITH VISIBLE ELECTRIC RESISTANCE.

1. Independent liner thermoforming / INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

1. Heat your oven to 80°C, fan oven
2. Remove the inner soles of the slippers and place them on an oven tray lined with baking paper
3. Wait 15 min
4. Put the liners back on, slip on the booties with a pair of ski-snowboard socks and tighten them (not too tightly)
5. Put on boots and pull tight
6. Wait 15 minutes in static
This operation can be repeated if necessary.

2. Ergonomic Heel Pad malleolar foam

Malleolar foams fill the anatomical hollow below and behind the malleolus to cradle the heel. The level 2 liner has an exclusive foam shape and material:
- the shape is based on an average of 40 foot scans. It's perfect for cradling the foot and adapts to all
- the material: elastomeric foam, soft and firm at the same time.
Simply slip it on and you'll feel the support. And when you wrinkle, there's no hard spot.

3. 3-point liner tightener

On this liner, there are 3 tightening points with laces:
- At the instep
- Above the malleolus
- At the top of the liner.
There is no tightening on the top of the foot to minimize friction but also to avoid tightening the instep, which can cut blood circulation and cool the toes.

4. Hook & Loop Shoe Link

We've added a velcro strap at the back between the liner and the shoe. The aim? To limit slippage of the liner inside the boot, to help you steer your board better. Because it's not enough to keep your foot securely in the liner: if the liner moves inside the boot, you won't steer your board as well.

Insole

The insole of this shoe is flat. It provides comfort and thermal insulation.
To increase the cushioning of the foot in the liner, only if you feel the need, you have 2 options:
- Purchase a pre-formed insole in the arch and heel area
- Purchase a thermo-formable insole for your foot. This is the most effective solution.

Sole: grip, cushioning and thermal insulation

Our Ultralight sole is made exclusively of EVA. EVA is a very light material with 80% air. This formulation is designed to resist abrasion while retaining its cushioning properties. It is naturally highly insulating and protects against the cold coming up from the ground. We've designed large studs for excellent grip. The studs are spaced far enough apart to facilitate snow evacuation.

How can I be sure it's the right size?

1. Put on shoe
2. Tighten the shoe
3. Stand up
4. Your big toes touch the tip of the shoe without any uncomfortable pressure
5. Bend your legs forward, your big toes move backwards and no longer touch the tip of the shoe.

A word from the product manager

The All Road 500 snowboard boots have been improved thanks to your opinions.
ref season 19/20: the model now has 2 tightening zones: a tibial Velcro fastener and instep tightening by knurling and cable // softer liner foam, still thermo-formable for greater comfort.
ref Season 21/22: reduction in liner thickness at shin level to better close the Velcro fastener
ref season 22/23, following breakages, we have changed our knurling supplier.
Many thanks for your opinions.
