Grip, adhesion, or both?
Grip is what keeps your soles from slipping on soft ground (greasy or dry). And grip is what keeps them from slipping on hard ground (wet or dry).
So with their 5 mm studs spaced to expel mud more easily, your trail shoes bite into the ground and outdo themselves on heavy terrain.
And thanks to their new rubber, your soles won't slip, even on wet rocks!
With our Kalensole EVA foam: soft cushioning for you
Kalensole is an EVA foam exclusive to running sports from Decathlon, used in the midsole. And it's also 3 years' work to achieve an exclusive composition that improves cushioning by 34%, energy return by +25% and temperature stability!
A shoe that adapts to all types of terrain... and all types of stride!
The K-Only is an exclusive Kalenji concept that makes our shoes suitable for all stride types, thanks to a denser foam under the first metatarsal.
A shoe that holds you in place during your trail run.
When you're out running for hours on end, you expect maximum support from your shoes!
That's why we've added a PU strip welded to the mesh on the back and sides of the shoe, to surround your foot. The result: when you pull on your laces, your shoe hugs your foot for even more support.
What's behind the XT8's design?
To give you support, versatility and grip, the XT8 is packed with details:
- Its pocket on the tongue lets you store your laces!
- At 285 g in size 39, your shoe is always lighter, and fits up to a body weight of 75 kg.
- Its sole offers a drop of 8 mm
- For maximum comfort - even on the trail - the lining covers the entire inside of the shoe, right down to the toes!
A shoe tested to last
In order to offer you an even more versatile shoe, we started by listening to your feedback. So to give you even more grip, we developed a new rubber for the sole.
Then we entrusted our shoes to passionate trailers for 6 months, to test them under real conditions, every day, on all types of terrain.
The result? In addition to its exceptional grip and support, the XT8 will accompany you for up to 1,000 km!
To choose the right size
For trail runners, don't hesitate to choose a size larger than your usual shoe size, to ensure optimum comfort on the descent and to prevent your toes from banging against the ground. Tip: keep your nails short and, before going downhill, check that your lacing prevents your foot from slipping forward.
Buying advice and fitting
Try both shoes, standing up, with the socks you use on your trail outings. Try on several models and sizes if necessary. Two points of comfort should be checked: heel and forefoot support on downhill runs. Don't hesitate to jog around the store. Use your shoes gradually on your first trail outings to get them to fit your feet, before really extending the distances.
