What is drop 0?
On a shoe, the drop refers to the difference in sole height between the forefoot and the heel. Scientific studies carried out by our research laboratory (the SportsLab) have shown that a zero drop (i.e. drop 0) results in a more natural stride, similar to that adopted when running barefoot. This natural stride enables your child to better absorb the impact of running, and strengthens tendons and muscles in the long term.
What about the natural stride?
To offer a natural stride that is as close as possible to barefoot running, the FLEX RUN shoe is based on 4 criteria:
- A 0 drop and flexibility, to put the middle part of the foot on the ground first rather than the heel.
- Lightness, for a smoother stride
- Anatomical shape to limit the stress of the shoe on the foot
Result: energy is transmitted to the muscles at the back of the leg, which better absorb vibrations.
A design conceived for children... and based on feedback from parents.
For these shoes, our team based itself on the needs of budding athletes and on feedback from their parents:
- Rubber pads all over the sole increase grip
- Velcro fastening allows your child to put on and take off the shoes on his own
- Laces and strap provide your child with effective foot support
- Reinforcements on the front and back of the upper give your child extra support and protection.
Why choose breathable footwear for your child?
SportsLab, our research laboratory, has shown that children perspire much more than adults from their feet during sport.
That's why all our running shoes are designed with a breathable fabric on the upper (mesh) to better wick away perspiration and avoid unpleasant odors. This material is lighter than synthetic leather, making running more comfortable and lighter!
