TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Sole grip

The grip of our soles is certified.
To qualify, the shoe must pass laboratory tests to evaluate the grip coefficient on different surfaces (smooth, rough, dry, wet).
To approve these tests, we then have the quality of our soles evaluated in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of child testers.

Waterproof test

Tested in the laboratory and in use, our shoes guarantee optimum waterproofing and breathability. First immersed in water under air pressure, we check for the absence of bubbles on the shoe's surface. The shoes are then placed, half-submerged, on a mechanical arm simulating walking, to check that the inside of the shoe remains perfectly dry. For this model, the test lasted the equivalent of 8 km under the conditions described above.

Extending waterproofing

Waterproof footwear is often compromised by the ingress of water through the top of the shoe. To keep your feet dry for longer, use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter to protect the top of the shoe from water ingress, as well as from stones, sand... A few times a year, we recommend using a waterproofing spray to restore the shoe's original water repellency and combat external stains.

Which size to choose?

For hiking, don't hesitate to choose a size larger than your child's usual shoe size. This will ensure optimum comfort on the descent, and prevent toes from digging into the shoe's bottom. Tip: keep your child's fingernails short and, before going downhill, check that the Velcro and/or laces are properly fastened to prevent the foot from sliding forward.

Buying advice

Have your child try on both shoes, standing up, with the socks used for hiking. Two points of comfort should be checked: the heel seat and the forefoot when descending. Avoid compression points when trying on shoes. Have your child use the shoes progressively during the first few hikes, so that they fit their feet.
On the Internet, you can print out the perimeter and check the length of your child's foot: https://pdfcoffee.com/pedimetreuepdf-pdf-free.html

REMOVABLE INSOLE

Removable insole for faster drying. Can also be replaced by an orthopedic insole.
