Buying advice
Try on the 2 shoes, standing up, with the socks used for hiking. Try on several models and sizes if necessary. Two comfort points to check: heel seat (heel doesn't lift off or only slightly) and forefoot on descent. Toes should not touch the toe. Avoid compression points during fitting. Don't hesitate to walk around the store. Use the shoes progressively during the first few hikes, so as to be able to walk in them.
Maintenance tips
Use a brush and/or sponge to clean the shoe and remove any residues of dirt or mud.
Then allow to air dry, away from a source of heat.
Finish with a waterproofing spray to keep the upper water-repellent and prolong the life of the shoe.
