NW 500, a new shoe for your new adventures!
Nordic walking is a sport in its own right, which is why Elodie, Séverine and David have developed this new NW 500 shoe: a nicer style, more suppleness (flexibility), better grip... everything has been modified in response to the feedback you Nordic walkers have given us. We've kept the gaiter to limit the ingress of small stones, and the lace holder to avoid dragging laces. A new life awaits me at your feet. Don't hesitate, give me a try!
What is Nordic Walking?
Nordic walking is practiced with special poles on all types of gently sloping terrain, to tone the whole body.
What are the benefits of Nordic walking?
Nordic walking is a complete sport accessible to all. It tones the body, improves breathing, is effective for weight loss and strengthens bones. Added to these physical benefits is the sense of well-being that comes with practicing this outdoor sport.

Why choose a specific shoe for Nordic walking?
In Nordic walking, you start by putting your heel down, then unroll your foot to your toes, which propel you forward. That's why our shoes guarantee you optimum flexibility and reinforced cushioning in the heel and under the metatarsals, the areas of support most used when walking.
What is the Flex-H concept?
The Flex-H concept is a system of three H-shaped flexion notches positioned at the front of the foot.
Studies carried out by Decathlon SportsLab have shown that during the propulsion phase of sport walking, the metatarsophalangeal joint is both the flexion zone and the main support zone of the foot.
Our design teams have therefore placed these flexion notches on either side of this joint to facilitate the rolling of the foot while preserving its comfort.
What footwear to choose in wet weather?
Airy mesh fabrics are not suitable for rainy conditions. We recommend the NW 580, whose fabric and treatment guarantee the necessary waterproofing.
To ensure the comfort of your feet:
- Choose the right shoe size. When walking, it is not necessarily useful to take an extra size.
- Choose a shoe whose shape is adapted to that of your foot
- Adjust/tighten the laces to maintain the foot well, do not hesitate to re-lace during the walk
- Avoid new socks for a 1st outing with your new shoes
- Use socks with a height higher than that of the integrated sock.
