THE RACE LIGHT: THE STORY OF A SHOE DESIGNED FOR FAST RUNNING
Yes, it's true: the Race Light was the essential we'd been missing. Indispensable, because it's not for everyone. Indispensable, because those for whom it is intended have specific needs, often overlooked because they don't represent the majority of runners. And for good reason: there's only one place on the top step of the podium!
With that in mind, there was no stopping us: it's decided, the Race Light will accompany the fastest strides!
MATRYX®: A TOP-OF-THE-RANGE MATERIAL FOR PERFORMANCE AND QUALITY
Matryx® textile is a patented, noble component recognized in the world of trail running, and produced in the Rhône-Alpes region of France. Ultra-resistant, lightweight and breathable, it's made from high-tenacity polyester coated with polyurethane (tear resistance, abrasion resistance, breathability). We've also added aramid thread to this weave for even greater support.

ANATOMY OF A SHARP SHOE
Take a look at the profile of the Race Light... See this raised ridge running along the sole? This is the Up Bar® concept, a technology borrowed from Kiprun (road running), a plate worked on with podiatrists.
The aim? Optimize the dynamism of your stride and its energy return by stiffening these two supports without hindering your foot's movement.
WHEN RACE LIGHT RHYMES WITH PERFORMANCE
The Race Light can be worn in competition (from 0 to 40 km, or up to 3 hours of running, beyond which you'll need our Race Ultra model), and/or for training during a specific session.
Let's face it, once you've got it on, the Race Light doesn't move a muscle... So all you have to do is focus on your goals, and run (fast)! Fitted for the slim feet of fast and competitive runners.
REUNION ISLAND: THE SETTING FOR A DEMANDING TEST
What better place to test the Race Light than on a demanding playground such as Reunion Island?
As for the testers, they were hand-picked, with trail runners whose ITRA rating doesn't fall below 700: true competitors ready for battle!
"In particular, I had them run flat out on a 2.5 km loop that they had to complete several times - they had to go for it!" says Thierry BREUIL, former top-level trail runner and product manager for this shoe.
A NEW LACE POCKET
As far as lacing is concerned, we've spent a lot of time working on an improved lace storage system. Securing your laces in a pocket simply prevents them from coming loose, or getting caught in branches or low vegetation.
What's special about this solid, stretchable pocket? It opens not at the top, but at the bottom, at the front of the shoe. In this way, the laces are more evenly distributed in the pocket.

The Race Light is all about lightness and dynamism. I'm sure you'll agree that 240g in size 42 is pretty light. Dynamism is enhanced by the UP'BAR concept and the low drop (4 mm). The closer a drop is to drop 0, the more it encourages you to run with a "natural" stride, i.e. forefoot or midfoot.
In short, our Race Light is a formidable all-terrain competition shoe!
