Why use a specific triathlon shoe for the bike leg?
As you already know, triathlon is 3 disciplines and 2 transitions. Whatever your race objective, the transition is always a stressful moment, and that's why we've designed a specific triathlon bike shoe to make it easier to put on and take off, while ensuring excellent barefoot comfort, so you don't have to worry about putting on socks on wet feet when you get out of the water.
How do I choose the right size?
Choosing a cycling shoe is similar to choosing a running shoe, so we advise you to choose a size larger than your street shoes, so that your foot doesn't feel too tight in use, especially around the toes. Be careful not to choose too big either, so that your foot doesn't move around in the shoe. Check that your heel doesn't lift out of the shoe once it's tightened, to confirm your choice.
Socks or no socks for triathlon cycling?
That's the question! Putting socks on wet feet during the 1st transition can be difficult, but depending on the distance, it can be frightening to attempt the bike part without socks for fear of discomfort and overheating.
With the Tri aptonia shoe, you can ride without socks thanks to its extra-soft, seamless interior. This will help you get through the first transition more serenely, while still allowing you to ride comfortably.
Is a triathlon shoe as effective as a road bike shoe?
This triathlon shoe will not only help you get through the 2 transitions efficiently, but will also help you achieve the best possible cycling performance.
The shoe's construction features an adjustable instep support system with the ATOP buckle. The nylon sole offers an excellent compromise between comfort and rigidity, while the all-mesh liner perfectly conforms to the shape of your feet and provides excellent ventilation.
