TECHNICAL INFORMATION

PRACTICAL INFO: How to prevent snow from entering the suit?

This suit features elasticated gaiters at the bottom of the legs which cover the boot. In the event of a fall or contact with fresh snow, the hermeticity of the gaiter prevents snow from entering.

How to keep kids warm on the slopes?

To stay warm and dry, simply apply the 3-layer rule: Layer 1 or second skin, to stay dry. Layer 2, or insulating layer, to retain heat. Layer 3, or protective layer, to keep out the elements.

How is fabric waterproofness measured?

The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The fabric of the 900 wetsuit, with a waterproof rating of 10000mm, can withstand the pressure exerted by 10000mm of water.
For skiing, we recommend fabrics ranging from 3000mm to 10000mm.

How is waterproofness measured?

To go beyond a simple component waterproofing value, we at Decathlon, test all our waterproof products in the laboratory. How is this test carried out? We have an articulated dummy on which we put the jacket, and which then spends a few hours in the shower.
With this test, we can confirm that the jacket will protect you from snowfall or a 6 cm shower in 1 hour.

How is the comfort temperature measured?

We test each of our products in the laboratory to give you an indicative comfort value. This is measured without tights for pants, and with a thermal T-shirt and fleece for jackets. The measurement indicated is that of the outside temperature at which the testers felt neither hot nor cold. This feeling differs, of course, according to the intensity of the activity, but also according to each individual's metabolism.

How do I wash my child's ski suit?

To optimize the performance and durability of your ski jacket or pants, we recommend:
Machine wash at 30°, synthetic program.
Turn product inside out.
Use little detergent. Do not use fabric softener.
Spin between 800 and 1200 rpm.
Tumble-dry or tumble-dry.
Do not dry-clean. Do not place on a radiator.

TESTS

All Decathlon products are imagined, designed and conceived in the Mont-Blanc valley. They are then tested under conditions identical to those you may encounter yourself in use (in the snow, in the cold, in powder snow...). The design teams ensure that the program for which the product was conceived and developed corresponds perfectly to its use in the field.
