How do I choose the right wetsuit size?
Choosing the right neoprene wetsuit size is just as important as choosing the right wetsuit.
A neoprene wetsuit should feel like a second skin, with no feeling of oppression. And it should give you freedom of movement.
We've deliberately designed this Aptonia SD wetsuit with slightly shortened sleeves and legs, to make it easier to unthread.
Why wear a neoprene wetsuit in triathlon?
In triathlon, depending on the water temperature, neoprene wetsuits must be worn:
- Mandatory if the water temperature is below 16°C
- Permitted if the water temperature is between 16 and 24°C
- Forbidden if the water temperature is greater than or equal to 24°C
Should I wear my neoprene wetsuit if it's not compulsory?
Yes, yes and yes! In addition to providing thermal protection, a neoprene wetsuit will help you float and glide better.
Depending on your swimming level, you'll generally see a gain of between 1min30 and 3 minutes over a distance of 1000m.
Even over short distances, you'll find this aid invaluable!
Zip direction? reversed, normal?
We've opted for a "normal" zip (closing from bottom to top/opening from top to bottom) to facilitate donning alone, especially during training sessions.
