TECHNICAL INFORMATION

CO-CONCEIVED WITH SAILING CLUBS

It took us 18 months to develop this overknee suit. We designed it with sailing clubs in mind, taking into account the constraints associated with intensive use. The Fédération Française de Voile (FFV) and 3 partner clubs provided us with their expertise to design a product suitable for everyone, from beginners to regatta racers.

REINFORCED KNEES, BUTTOCKS AND HAMSTRINGS.

The wetsuit is reinforced at the knees, buttocks and hamstrings. The anti-abrasion component plays two roles:
- to limit wear and tear of the neoprene in the areas most exposed to friction on the boat
- to limit the discomfort caused by the friction inherent in sailing.

MULTI-SPORTS

The wetsuit has been designed with light sailing in mind. Our design choices make it compatible with other sports such as SUP (Stand-Up Paddle), windsurfing, coastal lanyards and canoeing.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT SIZE

To get the most out of your wetsuit, you need to choose the right size. A wetsuit should fit snugly and there should be no visible creases. If you choose a wetsuit that's too big, creases will form, chafing will occur and thermal comfort will be reduced (water ingress).

REPAIR

Using neoprene glue (code 8501850), you can repair your wetsuit by following the steps in the video: https://support.decathlon.fr/comment-reparer-sa-combinaison-de-voile

THERMAL INSULATION

By immobilizing a film of water around the body, the neoprene wetsuit works on two levels:
1. the water trapped inside the wetsuit gradually warms up
2. heat dissipation to the outside decreases.
The wetsuit and the film of water form an insulating layer.

Neoprene is a closed-cell elastomer foam containing nitrogen bubbles with insulating properties.

DESIGN

Minimal Waste" consists in thinking about the design of a product and its various cut-outs, so that once the pattern pieces are placed on the material to be cut, they fit together like a puzzle, thus reducing offcuts and material consumption. It's just like a jigsaw puzzle! We're proud to be able to offer you our product based on this method, with a 7% saving in material consumption and a 34% reduction in production offcuts.
