TECHNICAL INFORMATION

What voltage?

Moderate tension (18kg to 23kg) gives you more comfort, more effect and more power, but less control and precision. On the other hand, you'll have less control and precision.
High tension (>23kg) gives you more precision and control. But beware of tendonitis. You'll also get less spin and power.

Monofilaments?

For monofilament ropes, Decathlon recommends tensions between 19kg and 22kg. To avoid injury, we strongly advise against monofilament strings for children under 15. These strings are reserved for players who break in less than 10 hours of play, as they lose their tension very quickly.

Multifilament?

For multifilament strings, Decathlon recommends a maximum tension of 25kg! These strings are recommended for people sensitive to tendonitis, young people and those who break little. Multifilament ropes keep their tension very well.

When to change your string?

The performance of your racket depends 50% on your frame and 50% on your string! So make sure your strings are in tip-top shape.
For those who break a lot: change when you break.
For those who never or rarely break, Decathlon recommends changing your strings as often as you play a week. Example: I play 1 time a week, so I change my string 1 time a year. I play 3 times a week, so I change my string 3 times a year.

The board Decathlon

You mustn't stiffen a flexible string, as this will affect its performance too much. A less taut string will allow you to play more relaxed, without forcing, and therefore have more power. With repeated use, strings wear out even without breaking. It loses its elasticity, its initial properties. The gauge (or diameter) also affects the feel of the game. The thinner the gauge, the more power and spin you get. The thicker the gauge, the more resistant and traumatic the string!
