Meets 2 standards: double and twin rope
All our ropes are designed and tested in Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc valley.
They are manufactured in Northern France, in the factory of our partner Cousin, which has 170 years of industrial expertise in ropes.
UIAA Dry treatment
This rope has the UIAA Water Repellent label
Brief summary of the test:
- A sample of rope is subjected to light abrasion over its entire surface, equivalent to a few days' use.
- It is watered for 15 minutes.
- The amount of water absorbed must not exceed 5% of the weight of the sample.
SIMOND DRY ropes more than satisfy the UIAA requirement
The rope's mechanical characteristics are preserved longer in cold, damp conditions.
Ultrasonic finishing
Thanks to this new ultrasonic melting process, deterioration of the rope ends is eliminated once and for all.
Middle marking
To enhance your safety, this rope has a black marking indicating the middle of the rope.
Weight
37 g/m
ATTENTION: Weight is measured in accordance with EN 892.
For example, for a single rope, the rope must be tensioned by 10 kg for 1 min under very precise temperature and humidity conditions.
As a result, the actual weight of the rope is often greater than the weight stated in the standard.
Measuring weight in accordance with the standard enables ropes to be compared with each other.

Controlling your rope
It's important to check your rope regularly. To do this, slide your hands over the rope and look closely, metre by metre, at the entire length of the rope. This will enable you to spot any cuts, nicks, abrasions or soft spots on the rope. If you notice any of these anomalies or irregularities, if the core is visible in certain places, if it is deformed or has been subject to too many falls, you need to change it. We don't play with safety!
