ATTENTION: The weight is measured according to EN 892.
For example, for a single rope, the rope must be put under a tension of 10 kg for 1 min under very precise temperature and humidity conditions.
As a result, the actual weight of the rope is often higher than the weight stated in the standard.
Measuring the weight according to the standard enables ropes to be compared with each other.
WHAT IS BEAL'S UNICORE?
The process of gluing the rope's core and sheath together without altering its suppleness.
If the sheath is cut or torn, the core and sheath remain together.
On a conventional rope, if the sheath is cut by abrasion on a ridge, a frequent phenomenon in the mountains, it slips and settles over several meters.
ATTENTION TO BELAYING
When used as a single, this rope should not be used in all hands, and in all devices: its thinness (9.1mm) makes it a rope that requires expert belaying. In fact, conventional devices will have reduced braking, while some automatic devices may not work with this small diameter.
DRY COVER TREATMENT
This innovation makes ropes more resistant to abrasion, falls, overheating, dust and humidity, and significantly improves their longevity.
WASHING YOUR ROPE
It is essential to maintain your rope to limit wear and tear.
As dirt ages the rope, we recommend:
1- using a rope cover;
2- If the rope is sale, wash it with clear, lukewarm water.
If stains persist and you want to clean them with soap, use a neutral soap, such as Marseille soap, and rinse abundantly with clear water afterwards.
3- Dry in the open air and in the shade, away from any source of heat.
STORE YOUR ROPE
Rope should be stored away from light, moisture, chemicals and heat. Be careful not to leave it inside a car in midsummer, for example.
CONTROL YOUR ROPE
It's important to check your rope regularly. To do this, slide your hands over the rope and look closely, metre by metre, at the entire length of the rope. This will enable you to spot any cuts, nicks, abrasions or soft spots on the rope. If you notice any of these anomalies or irregularities, if the core is visible in certain places, if it is deformed or has been subject to too many falls, you need to change it. We don't play with safety!
ROPE LENGTH EVOLUTION
LENGTH: 80 METERS
As they age, all climbing ropes shrink. This generally ranges from 2 to 5%, but can go up to 10% depending on humidity, heat, falls, washing, etc.... That's why we recommend that you measure your rope regularly.
