Product waterproofing

Waterproofing is the ability of a fabric to stop the passage of rain.
The resistance of a fabric to water pressure is measured in mm water column (test based on ISO 811). The higher the value, the more waterproof the fabric. The higher the value, the more waterproof the fabric.
A component with a waterproof rating of 2000mm can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000mm of water (roughly equivalent to a 2-hour shower).

Component breathability

Pour savoir si un tissu est respirant, on mesure sa résistance évaporative (test basé sur la norme ISO 11092).
Plus la résistance est faible, plus le tissu laisse s’échapper la vapeur d'eau générée par le corps en activité, donc plus il est respirant.
