Sharpening
The blade angle is 20°. An orange triangle on the back of the packaging allows you to check this angle on a whetstone. Simply place the blade on the triangle, follow the slope and maintain this angle when sharpening on the stone.
5Cr15 stainless steel
Our engineers chose to use 5Cr15 stainless steel on this knife for 3 reasons:
- the steel is hard enough to hold the edge long enough, such as cutting branches or processing venison for 2 hours.
- the steel is soft enough to facilitate sharpening thanks to a hardness of around 56 HRC, and take up the edge in just a few passes on a sharpening rack
- the steel has good corrosion resistance thanks to its chemical composition.
Maintenance
Your knife is assembled with 4 Torx screws. The screw closest to the blade is linked to the blade rotation mechanism. If, for example, you want to harden the opening and closing of the blade, then you can tighten this screw, and vice versa.
Be sure to wipe the blade clean after use, do not put in the dishwasher, keep in a dry place and for added precaution, you can lightly oil the blade.
