How to change a zipper slider?
You'll need pliers to remove the old zipper slider and a screwdriver to fit the new one. You don't need to do any sewing to make the change.
The slider should be placed on the side of the stop box (the female part at the bottom of the zipper, into which you insert the male part when you want to close your zip).
How to choose the right zipper slider?
To choose the right zipper slider, there are 3 criteria to consider:
- The width of the zipper: there are several sizes (widths) of zippers: 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm are the main standards.
- The type of zipper: plastic tooth, spiral, invisible spiral (the spirals are inside the product)
- Self-locking or not: if it is self-locking, when you pull down the zipper puller, the slider can no longer slide.
