What's the difference between sport earphones and conventional earphones?
When you exercise, your whole body is in motion. Your headphones must remain perfectly stable in your ears. You sweat, so your earphones have to resist perspiration. And you need to maintain a good perception of outside sounds. These 3 needs guided our choices throughout the design of the WE100 sport earphones.
Headphones that don't move when you're exercising!
To ensure that your wired WE100 Decathlon earphones are perfectly stable in your ears:
- We've designed silicone eartips with a winglet that fits snugly in your ear, stabilizing the earphones without causing discomfort. This stabilizes the earphones without causing any discomfort.
- We've added a clip to the WE100 earphones that lets you hang the cable from your t-shirt or jacket.
Balanced sound thanks to bass-reflex technology
To ensure that WE100 headphones sound like your favorite tunes, we use a miniature version of the "bass-reflex" technology often found in home speakers: a tube at the back of the headphone creates an outward vent. This system creates a well-balanced sound, highlighting the bass, which is usually recessed on headphones of this type.
Softness for your ears
For the part of the earphones that comes into contact with your ears (the tips), we've selected a soft silicone. We've designed the tips so that they don't penetrate your ear canal. This avoids the feeling of pressure that can occur when running. To design the tips, we studied ear morphology and carried out comfort tests with our testers.
Good perception of outside noise
Whether you're exercising in the city, in a park or in the countryside, it's no fun feeling cut off from the world. We've chosen an "open" design. This means that the ear tips don't fit inside your ear canal. This is more comfortable, and allows outside sounds to reach your ear.
Sweat doesn't scare them!
It's hot and you're sweating. Decathlon WE100 earphones are sweat-resistant. Textile membranes positioned on the acoustic holes of the earphones protect them from perspiration.
Silicone tips securely attached to the earphones
On our previous wired earphones, many of you told us that the eartips came off by themselves. So we've designed a system to keep the tips on the earpiece so this doesn't happen anymore. Should you lose the tips, please contact our support team to order a new pair.
Washable silicone tips
If, after many sessions, you feel that a little cleaning is in order, you can detach the silicone tips and run them under water. To clean the earphones themselves, you can wipe them with a cloth. Don't put them under water, as they're not designed to be submerged.
An extension of your phone!
Decathlon WE100 headphones feature a remote control and microphone for:
- pause music (press button)
- skip to next music (press button twice)
- answer a phone call (press button)
- reject a phone call (press button twice)
- hang up (press button)
- activate SIRI or Google Voice (press button for 2 seconds)
Great quality, fair price!
We take the quality of our products very seriously. We've produced numerous prototypes which we've improved as we've tested them in the laboratory and on jogging outings with testers. The acoustic design and the shape of the silicone tips are the two elements of the WE100 sport earphones that have given rise to the greatest number of prototypes and adjustments in order to offer you the best solution at the fairest price.
