Why use nylon?
It's the ultimate all-rounder. Nylon is a perfect choice if you're stretching your lines on spots that aren't too crowded.
It has the particularity of possessing a certain degree of elasticity. This elasticity provides a great feel during the fight and reduces the risk of stalling. It also favours smooth bridling of the fish.
Your line may reduce in strength with time and wear. So check after each fishing season if it needs replacing.
How do you interpret the wire's resistance in kilograms?
This corresponds to the limit at which nylon breaks when stretched with a weight. For example, if a 10 kg weight is suspended in the air from a 9 kg line, the line will break.
However, a 10 kg nylon does not necessarily break on a 15 kg fish. The fish is carried by the water and therefore weighs less than its actual weight on the line. On the other hand, when the fish pulls on the line, it may exert more resistance than its own weight and break the line.
How do you interpret the wire diameter?
It is expressed in hundredths of a millimeter. For example, a 35/100 wire means a wire with a diameter of 0.35 mm. The larger the diameter, the more resistant the line will be to the force of a carp on the line, but much less discrete and supple.
Decreasing the line diameter increases casting distance and allows you to store more line length in the reel.
How to fill your reel with nylon?
Step 1: open the pick-up and tie the thread to the spool with a double single knot.
Step 2: after closing the pick-up, turn the crank to wind the thread, holding it tightly in a cloth. We recommend that you place the spool in a basin of water to reduce the risk of twisting.
Step 3: fill the spool "flush", leaving a margin of 1-2 mm , then cut the line. The reel is ready
TIP
If you want to use braid in the line body, you can save some by installing a few meters of nylon before fitting the braid. For example, for a spool capacity of 500 m, you can put on 200 m of nylon and 300 m of braid, connecting them with a knot.
This optimizes spool filling. It also prevents the braid from spinning on the spool.
